Itinerary

  • Morning: Arrival & Transfer to Ol Pejeta
    • Arrive in Nairobi and be greeted by your safari guide.
    • Transfer to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, located approximately 3-4 hours from Nairobi.
    • Settle into your lodge or camp, which could be at Sweetwaters Serena Camp, Kicheche Laikipia Camp, or another of your choice.
  • Afternoon: Game Drive
    • Enjoy lunch at the lodge and have a short rest.
    • Head out for your first game drive in Ol Pejeta, famous for its rhino sanctuary.
    • Spot the Big Five (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhino) and other wildlife such as giraffes, zebras, and antelope.
  • Optional Evening Activities:
    • Night game drive to spot nocturnal wildlife.
    • Visit the Endangered Species Boma to see rare northern white rhinos.
  • Overnight at Ol Pejeta Conservancy
  • Morning: Transfer to Samburu
    • After breakfast, depart for Samburu National Reserve, about a 3-hour scenic drive.
    • Arrive at Samburu and check into your lodge or camp (popular options include Samburu Intrepids Camp or Elephant Bedroom Camp).
  • Afternoon: First Game Drive in Samburu
    • After lunch, head out for a game drive.
    • Samburu is known for its unique wildlife, including the "Samburu Special Five" – Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, gerenuk, and Beisa oryx.
    • Spot large herds of elephants and predators like lions, cheetahs, and leopards.
  • Evening at Leisure
    • Relax back at the camp and enjoy a sundowner overlooking the river.
  • Overnight in Samburu National Reserve
  • Morning: Game Drive

    • Discover more of the park's wildlife, including the bird species like kingfishers, guinea fowl, and vultures.
  • Overnight in Samburu National Reserve
  • Morning: Transfer to Aberdare
    • Depart Samburu early and drive to Aberdare National Park, a journey of around 4-5 hours.
    • Arrive and check into your accommodation at The Ark or Treetops Lodge, both unique lodges with wildlife-viewing decks that overlook waterholes.
  • Afternoon: Wildlife Viewing
    • After lunch, settle into your lodge and spend the afternoon enjoying the view from the lodge’s deck as animals come to drink at the waterhole.
    • Aberdare is home to elephants, buffaloes, leopards, giant forest hogs, and the elusive bongo antelope.
  • Optional Afternoon Game Drive
    • Alternatively, go for a guided game drive through the dense forests and misty moorlands of the Aberdare Range.
  • Overnight at Aberdare National Park
  • Morning: Optional Nature Walk or Game Drive
    • For early risers, take one last game drive or go on a nature walk in the Aberdare highlands.
  • Late Morning: Return to Nairobi
    • After breakfast, check out and transfer back to Nairobi, approximately a 3-4 hour drive.
